Strength in community

Invictus Martial Arts Academy is a purpose-built club running six days a week. We're dedicated to empowering students of all ages, starting from four years old, with the discipline, confidence and skills of martial arts.

Our fully insured, DBS-checked and first-aid trained instructors create a supportive and dynamic environment where students develop strength, focus and self-defence techniques. Students learn in an environment that encourages self-respect, respect for others, and perseverance in mind and body. Invictus Instructor

I started Taekwondo in Primary School after watching a demonstration and asking my Mum if I could give it a go! I found martial arts to be an excellent outlet for my energy — specifically enjoying sparring, step sparring and self-defence. Along my journey I achieved my 1st and 2nd Dan, and was awarded Student of the Year, Student Instructor of the Year, and completed an Instructor Training programme too. Teaching is what has stood out for me as I've matured — I've developed a passion for coaching and aiding younger students in their progressions.

I started my Taekwondo journey after spending a year on the sidelines watching my son train, then took the leap and never looked back. From the beginning I was hooked — pushing myself to improve and earning the Samurai award for Best in Grading at both 1st and 2nd Dan, as well as medals at national and local competitions. I've since trained in Thai Boxing, MMA, swords and Bo staff to expand my skills and understanding of combat sports. But my greatest achievement has been discovering my love for teaching — helping students of all ages grow in skill and confidence while building a supportive community.
